Newness is the quality of being recent, unfamiliar or not seen before—without necessarily implying improvement or value. It signals difference, disruption or emergence in a given context.
Nowness is the quality of being present and immediate—rooted in the current moment, felt in real time and unmediated by delay or distance.
for now, New north explores nowness and newness as a curatorial Proposition.
WHat are we up to?
shaped by instinct and a considered disregard for what comes next – we are invested in the making & sharing of contemporary art.
New North adopts an iterative model that gathers artists, communities of change and curious publics through poetic, provocative and live arts encounters. We privilege presence, liveness, and livedness at a time when these states are under threat—eroded by distraction, disconnection and dullness. New North is not about future-proofing. It is about now-making.

Musings
: When you have a thought you might like to share in writing. Wonders and wandering ideas captured in the moment and for no other reason than someone else might like to read them. If we get some good stuff we might publish it one day.
ART NERDS Community
: An irregular and intimate gathering of art nerds getting their nerd on in a friendly space. Bring your unique nerdery, seed collaboration and meet community. Prepare for this loosely facilitated session by thinking about ONE of these things, that you could share in a few minutes.

NEW NORTH is driven and curated by an evolving cooperative of arts-engaged humans that convene to enrich the contemporary arts landscape in Noosa. We do it because we love making things happen, because it nourishes us and because we are creating the place we want to live.
