Experiment 2 : Not The thing
"not the thing" is / was public experiment number 2.A fundraising campaign and invitation to see whether our community — local, regional and national — can help bring something ambitious into existence.Can we collectively fund, develop, curate, present + celebrate site-specific new ideas for a community we know and love.If the experiment succeeds, the result will be Apparent Light: a two-night projection and light-based activation transforming Peregian Beach Village into an open-air installation, experience and exhibition — a walkable night experience shared between artists, locals and visitors.Our Australian Cultural Fund campaign closed April 30 2026 and we raised $10,655, including $5000 matched funding from Creative Australia.
We received support from the Noosa Regional Arts Development Fund and Arts QLD Regional Community Arts Fund and are now waiting on the final funding notifications to know if we can do it! We also want to thank Peregian Business Association, Peregian Beach Hotel and Peregian Digital Hub for all their support along the way.
